Hands up, what’s one of the best things about the festive season? While we love glamming up for parties, sometimes snuggling up on the sofa and watching a Christmas movie wins. Even better, if it happens to be a romantic Christmas movie. Over the last few years, the popularity of the romantic festive film genre has really snowballed, which proves people simply adore a wintery love story.
Here’s our rundown of the top 5 romantic Christmas movies, including fashion tips to hone leading lady energy.
]]>Here’s our rundown of the top 5 romantic Christmas movies, including fashion tips to hone leading lady energy.
No.1: The Holiday
Come on, would it be Christmas without watching this 2006 classic rom-com? Movie trailer producer Amanda (Cameron Diaz) and newspaper columnist Iris (Kate Winslet) both have man-problems, so they swap houses via the internet to escape their heartbreak. Amanda finds herself in a cosy Surrey cottage where she meets local lad Graham (Jude Law), meanwhile Iris makes herself at home in a huge California mansion and meets local lad Miles (Jack Black). Can the women find a way to mend their broken hearts and have some festive fun along the way?
Steal Amanda’s style: Amanda’s cream coloured wardrobe is playful with textures and makes for a timeless look – we’re talking cream knitwear, silk shirts, and faux fur coats. This Faux Fur Coat in Cream by Fore is the dream – snuggly and stylish.
Steal Iris’s style: A little black dress is a wardrobe must-have, as Iris knows. Sparkle the night away in this Black Sequin Embellished Dress by Stella.
No 2: When Harry Met Sally
Not strictly a Christmas romance movie as it spans many years and seasons, but this 1989 rom-com is a beauty and features some lovely festive scenes. Sally (Meg Ryan) and Harry (Billy Crystal) meet when they share a lift from college at the University of Chicago, to New York where the graduates are about to start their new lives. On the journey they argue about whether men and women can just be friends. Over the years they cross paths and eventually become friends, but the answer to their earlier argument could be settled when friendship turns to romance!
Steal Sally’s style: ‘Meg Ryan Fall’ was an autumnal TikTok trend which nods to the rom-com queen’s 80s and 90s attire in her movies including When Harry Met Sally. Statement knitwear is one of Sally’s signature looks, try this Pull Oversize Sweater in Rust By Made in Sens.
No 3: A Christmas Prince
Don’t be put off by the reviews, if you’re looking for a light-hearted festive romance and like to fantasise about being treated like royalty – A Christmas Prince (2017) is just the ticket. American magazine journalist Amber (Rose McIver) flies to fictional foreign nation Aldovia to get the inside scoop on ‘playboy’ Prince Richard (Ben Lamb). However, when she’s mistaken for the tutor of Richard’s little sister Princess Emily, Amber keeps up the pretence in order to get her story. Will she get more than she bargained for as sparks fly between her and Richard?
Spoiler alert, there are two sequels: A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding and A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby.
Steal Amber’s style: This gorgeous White Silk Bodysuit Blouse by Kands London is fit for a princess, the blouse is made from 100% silk and is expertly tailored.
No 4: Last Christmas
Named after the classic 80s festive hit, and inspired by the music of beloved pop band Wham! and George Michael, this film sees disenchanted Christmas shop assistant Kate (Emilia Clarke) form a relationship with mysterious Tom (Henry Golding). There are some pleasing twists and turns in this 2019 Christmas rom-com, which also stars Emma Thompson. It features beautiful scenes of London, including Covent Garden, where Kate works – a place close to our heart as this was the location of Libre London’s pop-up shop earlier in 2023.
Steal Kate’s style: During a lot of the film she’s dressed as an elf, but also rocks statement outerwear– from an animal print faux fur coat to a red biker jacket. Make a statement in this Molly Maroon Faux Leather Coat by Amy Lynn.
No 5: A Castle for Christmas
We can’t deny this 2021 movie is cheesier than an oozing of round of Camembert, but it’s entertaining and full of festive cheer. Famed US author and divorcee, Sophie (Brooke Shields), travels to Scotland to escape backlash from readers over the ending of her latest novel – she killed off the leading man. Sophie enjoys bonding with the locals and exploring her Scottish heritage – and finds herself wanting to buy a castle. As she comes up against the owner, a cash-strapped and frosty Scottish Duke called Myles (Cary Elwes), will this spark an unlikely romance?
Steal Sophie’s style: Tartan figures prominently in Sophie’s wardrobe for obvious reasons. These Italian Classic Tartan Pattern Fashion Tights by Italiana to add extra interest to your winter attire.
]]>‘Tis the season to drink gingerbread lattes, wear sequins from day to night, play festive songs on loop – and get your Christmas gift shopping sorted.
We’ve noticed there isn’t a one-size fits all approach to Christmas present buying and we all have our own unique ways of tackling the task.
Here’s some festive fun for you. We've identified the five main types of Christmas shopping styles, read on to see which one resonates with you the most – and how to work with it…
The Organiser
When searching for the best Christmas gifts, you spend time researching what your loved ones will like the best. Colour-coded spreadsheets are your friends, thanks to them you have the last few years’ worth of present buying activity to hand so you won’t give the same thing twice. You’re the type who saves up all year for Christmas, never runs out of wrapping paper, and has a stand-by gift to hand just in case you forget someone – like that’s gonna happen!
Tip: Allow yourself a little room for being spontaneous, as this is where Christmas magic really happens.
Gift idea: Looking for a stand-by pressie? This Body & Shower Gift Set in Champagne & Spice by Betty Hula can be gifted to one person, or split up and given to three people.
The Secret Present Stasher
You’re a lover of Christmas and desperately want to be organised, so much so that you may even start your gift shopping in the January sales. You’ll search for the perfect present for loved ones no matter what the season – and squirrel them away for the big day. The problem is you don’t always remember where you’ve hidden everything. This could lead to you buying replacement presents – and you run the risk of someone uncovering their gift before you do!
Tip: Storage is the key. Dedicate a large storage box to stashing Christmas gifts – preferably one with a lock. Also, write an inventory of gifts you’ve bought for everyone.
Gift idea: Looking for a winter gift for a girlfriend? Check out this Bejewelled Headband, which is chic yet cosy.
Discount Queen
There isn’t a discount app or cash back site that you don’t know about. Your knowledge is so impressive you could be a worthy rival to Money Saving Expert’s Martin Lewis. Your Insta feed is filled with content from like-minded people who are savvy with spending and give you daily inspo. You take your time to consider purchases and will happily wait it out until the price is right. While you love a bargain, you’re by no means basic, and quality is important to you. One of your super skills is nabbing luxury gifts at a fraction of the price for your loved ones.
Tip: In the hunt for a bargain, don’t lose sight of who you’re buying for. Ask yourself: Will they love it? Will they use it? Do they need it?
Gift idea: We have a selection of jewellery perfect for Christmas gifting, this Snake Bone Chain Necklace is super stylish and under £15.
Last Minute Gal
You thrive on the thrill of leaving everything to the last minute. At school you would leave projects until the eleventh hour, at work you like to skate close to deadlines – Christmas shopping – same. Some might call you disorganised – but that’s not what it’s about. You’re someone who likes to feel all the feelings and live in the moment. Putting off gift buying to the last minute not only gives you an adrenaline rush but you enjoy a Christmas Eve shopping trip to soak up the festive vibes.
Tip: Write a gift list, including back-up ideas in case things sell out – and block out a day for gift shopping, even if it is Christmas Eve!
Gift idea: Take the stress out of gift shopping by going for a theme – like scarves, the must-have winter accessory. We have a fabulous selection of scarves here.
One For Me, One For You!
Christmas isn’t just a time for treating others, but for treating yourself! While you love buying others the perfect gift, you can’t help but pop a little something in your basket just for you. The downside of this? You can often go over your budget and end up buying things for yourself that you don’t really need. Maybe it’s time to have faith that ‘Santa’ will deliver gifts that will bring you joy. If not, you can always treat yourself in the January sales.
Tip: Stay strong. Keep your focus on Christmas shopping for others so you don’t get distracted.
Gift idea: If you must treat yourself, we have a buy one get one free offer on socks and tights – these Penti Striped Rose Fashion Ankle Socks are so cute and in the deal. You could be matchy-matchy with your bestie.

]]>Here’s how to create a spa-like atmosphere at home where you can relax and rejuvenate. After all, now and then a blissful night in, bathing, buffing and beautifying is just what we all need…
Set the scene
If possible make sure you have the place to yourself. Create a relaxing atmosphere by playing some chill out music and dimming the lights. Safely light a scented candle – or three, we’re big fans of this Votive Candle Trio Gift Set by Betty Hula. These vegan candles not only smell divine, once they’ve burnt down, the glass jars can be reused with tea lights – and there are even some included in the set.
Put your phone away and set the intention to let go of any worries from your day and focus on your wellbeing.
Bathing ritual
A soak in the bathtub can ease aches and pains, help you have a better night’s sleep, as well as lifting your mood, and softening your skin. We recommend using The Secret Wonder Oil Bath Salts by Betty Hula, combining detoxifying Himalayan salts with a blend of natural oils for the most blissful bathing experience.
While you’re in the tub, indulge in some exfoliation to slough away dead skin and unblock pores. We recommend Vegan Body and Face Exfoliating Cubes by Sintra Naturals, use these gentle cubes in a circular motion to refresh and nourish skin.
Hair care
Let’s not forget our manes! After washing your hair, soak up excess water with a towel and apply a conditioning hair mask. As you do so, give yourself a head massage, working the mask from root to tip, but making sure the mask is well distributed on dry ends. Scalp massage is important as it helps encourage blood flow and stimulates hair growth, as well as relieving stress.
Looking for a new hair mask? We rate Palm Pwr Hair Mask by Coconut Lane, which leaves locks smelling and looking gorgeous.
Face mask magic
If you ask us, one of the best beauty treats of all time is a face mask. There’s something glorious about putting on a facemask for 5-10 minutes and waiting for it to do its magic.
During this time, to boost wellbeing take some deep breaths and let your mind wander.
If you want a home facial experience go for Vegan Super Blossom Hydrating Facial by Vitamasques, this nifty sachet includes a three-step treatment with a face scrub, sheet mask and moisturiser.
Pedicure perfection
Going to a salon for a pedicure is a lovely thing to do, but a DIY job can also be pleasing and effective. Start by removing any old polish and soaking your feet in a bowl of warm water or in a foot spa for 5-10 mins to soften the skin. If you’ve already had a bath, you’re good to go.
Next, pat feet dry and buff off any hard skin with a foot file, followed with foot cream. Trim and file toenails, and then apply cuticle oil and gently push back cuticles.
Afterwards gently massage your feet with moisturiser, helping to encourage circulation. Now paint with your favourite polish – who cares if it’s not sandal season!
Ultimate manicure
It’s best to do a manicure as the last task on a pampering evening so you don’t smudge polish. Soaking your hands before a manicure also helps to soften skin, if you’ve had a shower or bath, this should do the trick.
Otherwise, soak your hands in a warm bowl of water for 5-10 mins with a little hand wash. Make sure you remove any old polish first.
Next, pat dry, trim and file nails. Then apply cuticle oil and carefully push down cuticles.
Apply a base coat to prevent staining the nail, once dry, follow by painting on your favourite polish. Painting on a top coat will help to prevent chipping and give a professional glossy look.
Before you go to bed, slather on hand cream – if you have manicure gloves, pop them on to lock in moisture and reveal super soft hands in the morning.
We hope you’ve enjoyed our tips and product recommendations for the perfect pampering evening at home – and maybe even make it a regular event!

]]>What or who are you grateful for? Do you often compliment people? World Gratitude Day is celebrated on 21 September each year – and reminds us to give gestures of thanks and appreciation to others and the world around us.
There are plenty of benefits to practising gratitude and experts say doing it even once a day can be beneficial to us – and hopefully others.
Let’s explore the ways to sprinkle thanks around like fairy dust and how gratitude can boost our wellbeing…
Do good, feel good
There have been many studies into how gratitude increases wellbeing and happiness. One study showed that practising gratitude for 15 minutes a day, five days a week, for at least six weeks can enhance mental wellbeing and possibly lead to a lasting change in perspective.
Another study showed that when couples actively express and receive gratitude, it can improve their relationship.
Focusing on gratitude has also been linked to increased patience, lowering high blood pressure, increased motivation for exercise and strengthening the immune system.
Get into the gratitude attitude
There are many ways to show appreciation. Giving compliments is one of our favourites. Seeing a smile burst out on a stranger’s face after you’ve told them you love what they are wearing is heartwarming. Thanking a colleague for support, guidance or a job well done can encourage a positive atmosphere at work. Telling a loved one how much they mean to you is always a good idea, so make that call, visit or even write a letter.
Words can be enough to give the people in your life a boost. However, if you do want to treat someone, we have a fabulous range of vegan beauty gifts here.
Bank your thanks
Another way to express appreciation is to create a gratitude jar. Find any jar, decorate it with ribbon, stick-on gems, glitter, however you see fit, but make something that brings you joy. Every day write down something you’re grateful for and place it in the jar. It might be the friendly cat at the end of your road that always says ‘hello’! The barista who always remembers your preferred coffee choice and your name – or the postie bringing you a new Libre London delivery!
When you need to feel uplifted, read through the gratitude notes in the jar to fire-up feelings of joy.
You could also take pictures of the things and people you’re grateful for and pin them on a mood board.
What if I’m not in the mood for gratitude?
It’s difficult to get into a positive frame of mind when you’re not feeling it, we get it.
If you’ve found someone or something challenging in your day, have a think about what’s happened. What did you learn from the situation? Can you find a silver lining in some way?
Afterwards, write out a sentence to express gratitude about the situation and how it’s helped you to learn. For example, ‘I am grateful that my colleague challenged my ideas today, although I felt upset at the time, it helped me find a solution to make my project stronger.’
If you’ve had a tough day you might write something like this: ‘Today has been really difficult, but I am grateful that not every day is like this. Tomorrow will be a better day.’
The best times for giving thanks
Try writing a list of things you are grateful for to set you in a positive mood for the day ahead. It might be your morning coffee (can you tell we love coffee?), it could be that you had a good night’s sleep, or that you have exciting things lined up in your day.
If you’ve woken up feeling in a funk, think about an experience or a person in your life that you’re grateful for and focus on the warm feelings this brings.
Sleep studies have shown that expressing gratitude before bedtime can have healing effects on the body and sleep patterns. If you’re too tired to pick up a pen and write a list, you could just focus on feelings of gratitude.
Now it’s our turn…
We are grateful for every single customer here at Libre London – and the amazing brands that we stock. We want you to know that we think you are awesome. Thank you for supporting us.

One of the best things about the changing of the seasons is you’re given a golden opportunity to refresh your look – and now it’s time to prepare for autumn.
There’s something magic about that autumnal crispness in the air, seeing the first leaves change colour to vibrant reds, yellow and oranges and fall from the trees. These little signs from nature give us a nudge that it’s time for a change – and your wardrobe is a great place to start a revamp. Who knows where it may lead?

]]>One of the best things about the changing of the seasons is you’re given a golden opportunity to refresh your look – and now it’s time to prepare for autumn.
Here are our top tips for preparing your wardrobe for autumn so you can look good and feel good…
Declutter your wardrobe
Start by laying all your summer clothes out on the bed. Is there anything you haven’t worn? Is there anything you’ve found uncomfortable? Is there anything that is looking tired or damaged? Start a pile of clothes to either recycle, sell on – or give to a charity shop. Dedicate one pile to clothes you want to keep.
If you feel unsure whether to let go of an item of clothing, call on the wisdom of Japanese de-cluttering expert and author Marie Kondo. In her best-selling book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying, she says, ‘Choose things that spark joy when you touch them.’
Transition summer clothes
There’s no need to pack away all of your favourite summer clothes just yet, instead look for clever ways to layer outfits, afterall autumn weather is unpredictable. If it’s a bit nippy, rock a strappy dress with a cropped jumper, chunky cardigan or denim jacket – and boots. A scarf can update an outfit and can be handy if there’s a chill in the air – silk or cashmere will add a luxe feel. If you look to gently transition your wardrobe each season, this will keep your signature style on point.
Safely store summer clothes
One of the secrets to having a great wardrobe season after season is organisation. Once you’ve identified summer clothes you want to keep but don’t want to wear for autumn, carefully fold them and store in a vacuum-packed bag to save space. Place this in a fabric storage bag to keep under a bed or on top of a wardrobe. Avoid putting items of clothes in the loft just in case it gets too cold and damp in the winter, which could lead to mould.
Looking for new systems to organise your wardrobe? Organising gurus Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin of The Home Edit have published a new book: Stay Organised: The Ultimate Guide to Making Systems Stick.
New trends and old classics
A new coat is often a key purchase for autumn and you can’t go wrong with this classic Button Up Trench Coat by Fore, which is available in black and olive.
Gothic florals are still hot, and British Vogue hints Netflix hit show Wednesday (which has been renewed for a second season) may have given the trend a boost.
Red is tipped to be a hot colour for autumn, a move on from Barbiecore pink, which has been a popular shade for summer 2023. We love these red Side & Back Pocketed Tailored Trousers by Attentif, which will look sleek with heels and a little black top.
Update with accessories
Nothing says new season like a new handbag. In September, regardless of whether you’re still studying, there’s always a back to school vibe. A handbag update can make you feel like you’ve got a fresh start, with new compartments to store things, as well as giving tried and tested outfits a refresh.
Belts can change the silhouette of cardigans and dresses for a simple update. Experiment with skinny belts and corset style ones and see what works best for you.
Jewellery is another way to take a look to the next level. Trends for autumn 2023 include charms, beads, pearls, amethyst and petrified wood. Don’t be afraid to go big or bold.
We hope you have fun preparing your wardrobe for autumn with our tips.
]]>Finger sandwiches, cute cakes, and a selection of scones all displayed like a work of art, afternoon tea is a British institution. Given that here at Libre London, we are fans of plant-based eating and stock a wide range of vegan beauty products, we’ve rounded up the best vegan afternoon teas in the UK.
The Langham was the very first hotel to serve afternoon tea, back in 1885. Its plant-based menu is traditional with inventive touches such as Coronation jackfruit finger sandwiches with lamb’s lettuce on garam masala bread, classic raisin scones served with lemon curd, and there’s a ‘Ninety 9 ice’ strawberry ice cream. Indeed, sweets are inspired by the nation’s favourite treats – think chocolate fudge cake and a strawberries and cream sponge. We have our eye on the ‘Copy n Paste’, a caramelised white chocolate shell with Madagascan vanilla cream and crunch. Inspired!
The Midland is one of the oldest hotels in Manchester, opening its doors in 1903. It takes afternoon tea seriously, with a splendid setting called The Tea Room to indulge this quintessentially British pastime. A selection of sandwiches include roasted red pepper with vegan feta and rocket on malt bread, along with crushed pea and marjoram cream cheese on rye bread. The sultana scones are sweetened with soya milk and Mrs Darlington’s jams. Stand-out cakes are caramelised pear and almond sponge and Earl Grey tea polenta cake with orange curd. The Midland also has three private loose leaf tea blends to try.
The Dome was once The Old Physician's Hall (1775) and oozes grandeur. The afternoon tea is served in The Georgian Tea Room on 3 tiers with silver tea pots. On the menu, there’s a vegan sausage roll and selection of sandwiches with a Mediterranean twist including sundried tomato and basil, roasted vegetable and hummus – along with walnut pesto scones with cream. Cakes are traditional with lemon tart, mille-feuille, and strawberry sponge in the mix.
Terre a Terre is something of an institution in Brighton when it comes to plant-based eating – and the restaurant’s afternoon tea is a must-try. You won’t find traditional sandwiches here. Instead there is Kentucky fried cauliflower, sweet tapioca cracker with pickled vegetables, and ‘hushpuppy plumpkin’, this savoury ball of corn marries with flavours including miso pesto, apple shrub relish, crispy sage and onions. Sweet highlights include chocolate hazelnut truffle cake, and tea soaked sultana scones served with vanilla and strawberry jam and coconut and lime yoghurt.
This West Country city has a buzzing vegan scene, so it only seems right to mention the afternoon tea at plant-based eatery Eden Cafe Clifton. Savoury options include ‘king prawn’ Marie Rose cocktail, and two sandwiches of the week, such as coronation chickpea, cream ‘cheese’ and cucumber or vegan feta and pesto. Cake options rotate seasonally and include extra dark brownie, passion fruit curd tartlets and carrot cake - not to forget clotted cream and jam scones. If drinking tea isn’t your thing, there’s a selection of fancy coffees, hot chocolate and ice cream milkshakes, all vegan.
Did you know?
We have Queen Victoria’s lady-in-waiting, Anna Maria Russell, the seventh Duchess of Bedford, to thank for inventing afternoon tea, around 1840. The story is, Queen Victoria often got peckish in the afternoon, so the Duchess would bring her tea, cake and slices of bread. Eventually, this snack transformed into full-on afternoon tea, which soon became trendy in high society.
What’s your favourite afternoon tea destination? Tell us about it on our Instagram or Facebook pages.

]]>Do you ever gaze up at the Moon in awe? This month, there’s plenty to see with two full moons gracing the skies on 1 and 31 August 2023. When this occurs, the second full moon in the month is known as a blue moon, and it’s thought to bring luck and blessings. This particular lunation is also a supermoon, as it appears larger and brighter in the sky because it is in closer proximity to the Earth.
A blue moon is a rare occurrence, hence the saying ‘once in a blue moon’, appearing every two – three years; the last time we saw one was 31 October 2020 (Halloween).
Let’s delve into the mysticism of the blue moon and how it can help to empower us this month...
Folklore and the Moon
The Moon has been celebrated throughout time and by ancient cultures the world over as a source of magic and mystery. In Native American tradition, August’s full moon is called the Sturgeon Moon, this is because at this time of year sturgeon were abundant in the lakes of North America. In Old English, it was commonly known as the Grain Moon, given this was a time of harvest in the UK.
Both are thought to be a time of abundance, when food is harvested ahead of the autumn and winter months. Given that we are halfway through the year, it’s a good time to take stock of your achievements so far and take pride in how far you’ve come.
Oh and if you were wondering, a blue moon doesn’t appear blue in the sky, it’s not clear why it goes by this name.
How to celebrate the blue moon
Generally speaking, full moons are a good time to focus on wellbeing, relax, and express gratitude for good things in your life.
The Moon is connected to the element of water, feminine energy, intuition and emotion. Some people find they feel unsettled and sleep badly around the time of a full moon, or may experience vivid dreams.
If you’re feeling affected, try taking a relaxing bath with a favourite soak, we recommend Coral Beach Bath & Shower Gel by Guava & Gold. Safely light a candle and make the intention to fully relax and switch off from social media (put down your phone!). Let your mind drift, and if any uncomfortable thoughts come out, acknowledge them and let them go. The blue moon is a powerful time of releasing the things that no longer serve you – from nagging thoughts to old habits.
If you don’t have a bath, a shower will work too. Whichever you choose, as the water pours away, visualise any negative emotions being washed away by the water and going down the plug hole.
Astro elements
In terms of astrology August’s blue moon is in dreamy Pisces and invites you to explore your dreams and desires. Indulge in daydreaming, you may find that answers to problems suddenly appear, and you are buzzing with ideas. This is a good time to explore your creativity whether that’s journaling, photography, trying a new make-up look or experimenting with your wardrobe.
On the flip side, it can be easy to be lost in your own thoughts. If you feel the need to be grounded, go outside and feel the earth on your bare feet.
Lunar crystals
This may sound hippy dippy, but if you have any crystals or crystal jewellery, safely clean them and leave it in a place where it can soak up the moon light. Notice how your crystals appear brighter afterwards.
If you want to feel a greater connection to the Moon’s inspiring energy, crystals including moonstone, selenite, labradorite will help with this. Try wearing these gems, or placing any of them near your bed.
Learning more about moon cycles
If you want to learn more about the Moon, its cycles and how to work with them, we suggest following author and expert Yasmin Boland.
Another of our favourites are The Astro Twins, founders of AstroStyle and astrologers for Elle USA. Not only do twins Tali and Ophira Edut know about the Moon, they also have some great fashion tips on what to wear to suit your zodiac sign.
After August 2023’s blue moon, the next time we will see one is 31 May 2026, so enjoy this special time – and the last days of summer.

]]>A stick of lipstick can work wonders, it can elevate a look, perk you up, and make a statement. With names such as Wine N Dine, Snow Queen, and Rose Flower Pearl, lip colour can bring a smile to your face in more ways than one. Not only that, lippy has a rich history with its use dating back to early civilisations and it has since been a firm favourite with queens and movie stars such as Marilyn Monroe.
Here are 10 fascinating facts about lipstick – and accompanying tips to ensure a perfect pout…
1. Lipstick has been worn for thousands of years. Archaeological records dating to about 2,500 BC from Mesopotamia (now known as the Middle East) document a queen wearing lip colour made of ground stones.
Tip: Before applying lipstick, prep your lips with a lip scrub to smooth any dry patches.
2. The Egyptians, including Cleopatra, wore lipstick that got its colour pigmentation from beetles. It’s estimated that 70,000 beetles were needed to produce one pound of the carmine dye that the beauty-loving queen used to paint her lips. It’s believed she associated lipstick wearing with power.
Tip: Thankfully, these days vegan beauty options are widely available, and we’re proud to say we have plenty of choice here at Libre London.
3. Queen Elizabeth I popularised lipstick during her reign over England from 1558 to 1603, and wore red lipstick to ward off evil spirits. However, given that the red shade she wore was lead-based, it’s more than likely she gave herself lead poisoning through daily wear.
Tip: Apply a thin layer of lip balm before applying lipstick to moisturise your pout and ensure staying power.
4. There’s no proof red lippy will ward off wicked ghouls, yet according to science it can make you more attractive. Scientists at the University of Manchester tracked the eye movements of 50 men as they viewed different images of women, and found they spent longer looking at women wearing red lipstick.
Tip: If you want a more subtle colour, dab lipstick on with your finger.
5. While lipstick was popular in the Georgian era (1714 –1830), you may have noticed Netflix binge-worthy period drama Bridgerton nods to this, laterly the Victorians were not fans and they favoured a ‘natural look’. Indeed, Queen Victoria believed make-up belonged on the stage and her subjects should avoid it! Thankfully readers, her views did not stand the test of time.
Tip: Forgot your blusher? Apply lipstick onto your cheeks to give a pinch of colour.
6. The first lipstick was made in 1870 by French beauty brand Guerlain, they commercially produced it in 1884, and it came in a tin tube. Modern swivel lippies didn’t appear until 38 years later in 1922. Before this new-fangled packaging was invented, make-up for lips was stored in a small glass jar.
Tip: Lipstick tends to last for 1-2 years, while lip gloss lasts for 6 months – 1 year, throw away old make-up to avoid germs and irritation.
7. The Guinness World Record for the most people applying lipstick is 6,900 and was achieved by Vice Cosmetics (Philippines) at the Ganda for All Music Festival at Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Manila, Philippines, on 9 September 2018. Men, women and children participated and the message of the event was, ‘Beauty for all.’
Tip: To make any lipstick long wearing, apply lip liner over the whole lip first.
8. H Couture Beauty’s diamond lipstick is the most expensive in the world at $14 million, the packaging is made of 18k gold encrusted with almost 200 diamonds, hence the mind-boggling price tag.
Tip: It might seem like a thing old Hollywood movie stars would do, but try blotting lipstick with blotting paper and reapply for a lasting look. It works!
9. It’s been noted that in times of recession and economic stress, the ‘Lipstick Effect’ kicks in where people splash out on small luxuries for a boost. The concept was coined by economics and sociology professor Juliet Schor in her 1998 book The Overspent American. She discovered that when the pennies are tight, women would splash out on luxury lipstick to keep up appearances.
Tip: Use a lip brush to apply lipstick for a precise pout.
10. During the early 20th century, red lipstick renewed its association with power when the suffragettes in the UK, US and other places, wore it as a secret symbol of female strength.
Tip: Apply foundation to lips as a base to really make a red lipstick pop.
Happy National Lipstick Day!

However, a full-on heatwave requires a shake up to your usual routine – from getting dressed in the morning to how you sleep at night.
Here in the UK, a heatwave is announced when a location meets or exceeds its daily maximum temperature over a period of at least three days.
Last summer, temperatures shot up to just over 40°C, and some days it felt like the tropical conditions would never end.
That’s why this year, it’s a sensible idea to plan ahead for things hotting up. We’ve done the work for you with these top tips, which will help you remain cool and stylish when temperatures rise…
Dress for the hot weather
There’s been much debate on the internet about whether black clothes should be worn in the heat. If you love wearing dark shades, you’ll be pleased to know that according to research it’s a myth black makes you hotter.
The most important thing is to opt for loose fitting clothing, if possible, in natural fabrics such as linen and cotton, which allow skin to breathe.
If you’re after an LBD for summer, try this Alexa Black Puff Ball Dress by Amy Lynn, the skirt is cotton.
We also love this Embroidered Sleeveless Long Dress Ecru, being long, flowing and cotton, it ticks all the boxes for a bright and breezy summer dress.
If you’re looking for a party frock this Lola Purple Puff Ball Dress by Amy Lynn is a cool choice for summer nights.
Stay out of the sun
If you’re able to, it’s wise to stay out of the sun between 11 and 3, as this is when temperatures can be the hottest. If you must be outside, try to find shady spots and wear a stylish wide brimmed hat.
It’s worth getting into the habit of applying sunscreen when you get up. Be mindful that sunshine can penetrate through glass and cause skin damage if you’re not wearing UV protection. Talking of UV protection, make sure you have a selection of shades to call on, we have you covered with these sunglasses.
Keep your home cool
Closing curtains and blinds at home during the day will ensure that rooms stay cooler. According to Good Housekeeping, opening windows when the weather is hot can bring in more heat.
During a heatwave avoid using an oven which will create more warmth, instead opt for salads or use an air fryer.
Another favourite heatwave hack is to place a bowl of ice in front of a fan to help circulate cool air, especially helpful at bedtime.
Working from home? Putting your hair up and keeping it off your face can help to keep you cool and looking chic. This beautiful Indonesian Batik Borneo Green Headband is cotton and handcrafted in Bali, it’s sure to be a summer accessory favourite.
Reduce your body temperature
Taking a cool bath or shower can lower your body temperature. Do this before bed to encourage a good night’s sleep. For summer bathing heaven, check out this Rhythm & Reef Bath & Shower Gel by Guava and Gold.
If you’re feeling too hot in the day, dip your feet in an icy bowl of water or footbath. Maximise the experience by looking at a picture or video of a pleasant snowy scene on your phone and remind yourself what it feels like to be cold. As a bonus, studies have shown that looking at images of nature can lower stress levels.
Drink and eat smart
We sweat more when it’s hot, so it’s more important than ever to rehydrate throughout the day. Aim for 6-8 glasses of water, and infuse with chopped lemon or other fruit to add flavour.
Snacking on food containing high levels of water like strawberries, cucumber and melon can also keep you hydrated.
If you need a caffeine hit but can’t face hot drinks, opt for iced coffees and teas. According to the BBC, hot drinks aren’t always a bad idea in a heatwave as they will make you sweat faster and shift excess heat, the same applies for hot and spicy food.
Stay cool and stylish in the heat, and enjoy the summer!

]]>Summer is here and it's time to prepare for festival season. Now in its 51st year, Glastonbury Festival (June 21 – 26) is arguably the most iconic music event in the world and sets the precedent for other like-minded gatherings.
Things have changed considerably since the first festival in 1970, the site at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset, is more like a city – in fact for 5 days it has a larger population than the nearby city of Bath. Yet, while many festivals these days are bigger and more fun-filled than ever, they do pose challenges – from perfecting how to pack to looking as fresh as a daisy when you don’t have access to a bathroom.
That’s why we’ve compiled our Festival Survival Guide 2023, to help you have the best time. Whether you’re at Glasto, or one of the other amazing festivals in the UK or further afield, here are the tips and tricks you need to know…
Be a festival packing pro
The UK weather is unpredictable to say the least, which makes festival packing a tough call. That’s why it’s important to carefully plan a capsule wardrobe that can take you from day to night and be suitable whatever the weather. Layers are essential, as temperatures can drop in the evenings – and it’s handy to have a selection of separates that can work together to create multiple outfits.
Play around with outfit options before packing a rucksack, and make sure you can carry it with ease. However tempting it might be, avoid wheely cases which can get bogged down if it gets muddy – trust us!
Our must-buy for festival season are these eye-catching Amy Lynn Lupe Rainbow Metallic Trousers, which can be teamed with a variety of tops to give you a new look when needed. If you’re seeking a dazzling dress for festival season this Amy Lynn Monique Aqua Blue Sequin Dress is just the ticket.
Be snack savvy
Festival snacks are very important, you need to keep your energy levels up with all the dancing and walking around the site. Choose healthy options that won’t perish quickly in the sun, like nuts, dried fruit and cereal bars.
It’s also important to stay hydrated, so bring a lightweight reusable water bottle, which can be refilled onsite, rather than buying expensive bottled water.
Carry snacks and other on-the go essentials in a trusty crossbody bag, like this boho Tassel Macrame number.
Be a happy camper
Always bring items with you to festivals that spark joy, like a favourite jumper for keeping cosy in the evenings.
Reserve your phone battery and avoid checking social media too much, instead enjoy the moment. Remember to take a portable phone charger to swerve spending hours queuing to charge phones in an overcrowded charging tent.
To help you sleep, pack an eye mask, earplugs – and slumber inducing essential oils such as lavender or chamomile.
Anti-bacterial products are always a good idea at festivals and we highly recommend this Nourishing Anti-bacterial Hand Cream by Betty Hula in Lime and Mango, which has an up-lifting scent.
Be a festival beauty
Just because you’re camping out in a field, it doesn’t mean you can’t be glam!
A little face glitter helps to get you into the festival spirit, look for planet-friendly plastic-free options.
We highly recommend investing in Magnetise Magnetic Lashes, they can be applied in a flash without the use of pesky glue and are reusable. Not only are they vegan and cruelty-free, they will give you lashes to rival Glasto 2023 headliner Lana Del Rey.
Of course any seasoned festival-goer will tell you that wet wipes for staying fresh, a good supply of pocket tissues (for no loo roll emergencies), mints and dry shampoo are your best friends.
Be post-festival savvy
Even if you’re glamping, being away from home comforts can take its toll. Plus, even the most social types can be left feeling ‘peopled out’.
If you’re able to, block out time for post-festival pampering before getting back into your usual routine. You could create a home spa, give yourself a mani and pedi and do a face-mask – while watching festival coverage or a favourite film.
For any post-festival pampering session, we recommend Vitamasques Vegan Electrolyte Watermelon Face Sheet Mask, which is ultra hydrating and promises a dewy glow.
Whether you’re partying in a field this summer, or watching festival footage at home, we hope you’ve been inspired by our Festival Survival Guide 2023.

So, we’re now faced with the question: “Does preparing for the cold mean that we cannot look fabulous?”
Of course not! We know that it's challenging to be stylish in bad weather, especially when it's freezing. During the colder months, the demand for thicker, warmer clothes takes precedence. But don’t fret! If dressing properly for the cold months is still a skill that eludes you, then we’re here to the rescue. In this blog, we’ll give key advice on how to dress for the cold without losing elegance. Read on to discover more.
Tip #1: Come up with a checklist
We know. A checklist is sort of the antithesis of being “creative”, but we’re trying to make the best out of being fashionable and practical, right? So, a little compromise won’t hurt. Our checklist includes the following: a hat, a scarf or knit mask (to cover your face and mouth), sleeves, mittens, several layers of loose-fitting clothing, and of course, water-resistant coats and boots.
With our winter style in mind, we might be tempted to choose gloves over mittens. However, mittens tend to be a warmer choice. Our fingers generate more heat when they're not separated from each other by fabric, as they are with gloves. Don’t worry because there are great-looking mittens that are made of down or synthetic insulation, have a waterproof design, and fit your hands properly.
Hats are important because, well, it protects your head and insulates it from the cold. You can pick any style that suits you, but it's important to consider the material to determine what option will keep you warm and dry. Experts say that micro fleece and wool materials are both great at retaining heat and wicking away moisture.
Tip #2: Observe proper “layering”
To make things easier, we came up with a quick guide to help you layer properly for the cold. Know that there is some science to dressing warmly, even though it may seem straightforward to pile on the clothes:
First, wear inner layer clothing made of materials that don't absorb moisture and can hold more body heat. Cotton won't be able to retain as much body heat as wool, silk, or polypropylene.
Insulation Layer: By keeping air near your body, an insulation layer will help you keep warm. It works well with natural fabrics like fleece, goose down, or wool.
Outer Layer: Your outermost layer serves as a wind, rain, and snow shield. To prevent heat loss, it should be densely woven and ideally wind- and water-resistant.
Tip #3: Invest in Quality Clothing
When it comes to staying warm during the cold months, fabrics are a major game changer. This is one of those aspects where you should choose quality over affordability (the cheapest is never the best option here). Cashmere sweaters are more expensive than other blends for a good reason. Spend money on at least one or two woollen sweaters and knits of high quality that can keep you warm by trapping heat. Heavy knit sweaters look good and work well for layering.
Most clothing is made of cotton, which is also the foundation of the clothing business. Cotton flannel shirts retain heat well, making them ideal for chilly weather. They are not only reasonably soft and simple to clean but also affordable and strong.
Speaking of fabrics, make it a point to have an insulated jacket. These are filled with insulating materials that ensure you stay warm in cold weather. When it's raining, they can be layered over a waterproof jacket or worn alone. Insulated jackets come in one of three general categories: down, synthetic insulation, or a combination of the two. These are all attractive and effective in retaining heat.
Please take note that, unless otherwise stated, insulated coats cannot be used in place of waterproof jackets. They are best for dry or slightly humid cold conditions because heavy rain may weaken their insulating qualities.
]]>The vegan lifestyle, which was once thought to be only for those who are extremely health-conscious, is currently one of the most well-liked fashion trends of the twenty-first century.
Once you have fully committed to the vegan “cause”, you'll undoubtedly come to appreciate the enormous advantages of vegan products over time and desire to apply them to other aspects of your life.
Here are some reasons why adopting vegan skincare is better for you.
]]>
First off, going vegan is a tough choice. It takes a lot of sacrifices to be vegan since almost everything we’re used to having is not vegan. For beauty products, for example—it’s quite challenging to find the right products that are vegan and effective. It’s often easier to just embrace those famous beauty products readily available.
However, once you’ve gotten over your sacrifices and have fully committed to the vegan “cause”, you'll undoubtedly come to appreciate the enormous advantages of vegan products over time and desire to apply them to other aspects of your life. Here are some reasons why adopting vegan skincare is better for you.
Vegan Products Are Healthier
Fun fact, our skin absorbs 60% of what you apply to it. With that said, most commercial beauty products are made up of animal extracts, along with synthetic and artificial ingredients. So, you can imagine the effects these products have on your skin and your overall health in the long run.
On the contrary, vegan skincare products are purely plant-based. As a result, they are free of chemicals and artificial additions. For instance, chamomile, aloe vera, and tea tree all natural components present in most beauty products—have been tried and tested and consistently shown to be just as effective as their synthetic counterparts, utilising them in removing extra oil and other pore-clogging pollutants and treating and preventing acne. They also make the skin feel silky and soft. Additionally, they are abundant in vitamins B, C, and E, which help with cell regeneration and keep your skin appearing young and vibrant. These substances also have a lot of anti-inflammatory and antioxidant capabilities. They, therefore, benefit sensitive skin and aid in the treatment of skin conditions like eczema, and allergies, among other skin concerns.
So, the next time you pick up a product, a palette for example, try to consider getting one that’s vegan. Take this palette from Phase Zero for example. It’s presented in a sleek black compact case with a built-in mirror for on-the-go use, the palette includes 6 universal shades, from metallic to matte, to use from day to night, that add impact, definition and depth. It’s also perfect
Chemical-free means lower risk of cancer
We mentioned earlier that the skin absorbs 60% of the things you apply to it. So, can you imagine your skin’s relief when you apply products over it that are free from synthetic chemicals? As a result, you don't need to be concerned about any health issues brought on by skin care, such as rashes or skin cancer. Take this Guava and Gold Lotion for example, it is only made up of avocado and grapeseed oils, shea butter and guava fruit extract but you can still achieve a well-hydrated, silky smooth skin delicately scented with unique Coral Beach fragrance. SPF15 gives light sun protection throughout the day. Thanks to Guava & Gold. Additionally, vegan beauty products frequently have a shorter ingredient list because they solely contain natural ingredients. You can better comprehend what you are applying to your body, hair, and face, thanks to the list.
Vegan means a better world
Aside from being from all-natural ingredients, vegan also means that it is cruelty-free. This might not come off as a surprise, but countless animals are being experimented on or are bred solely to be slaughtered just to produce most products we use. Let that sink in. If that doesn’t agree with you, then embracing a vegan lifestyle is the way to go. Vegan products are cruelty-free, and each product is developed without animal testing. Using vegan beauty products helps you live a more environmentally responsible lifestyle if you've already been doing so at home and work.
Fortunately, you don’t have to scour the interwebs to look for the best vegan products. A quick tour at Libre London and you’ll find troves of amazing products. This lipstick from AudreyBurn is a perfect example. This is made up of all-natural extracts that give your lips that high-end texture with a velvet finish and no shine. It’s Paraben and fragrance-free formula, available in brick orange red and ideal for long wear.

Well, this may come off as a surprise, but this practice of celebrating Halloween is not purely a product of capitalism but can trace its origins from thousands of years to pagan times.
The origins of Halloween can be traced back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain. Way back 2,000 years ago, the Celts lived across the lands we now know as Britain, Ireland, and northern France. Samhain marked the end of summer and the harvest and the beginning of the dark, cold winter. The festival symbolised the boundary between the world of the living and the world of the dead.
The Celts believed ghosts would use this transition from summer to fall to winter (specifically October 31st) to visit the mortal world. Hence, bonfires would be lit to ward off these (evil) spirits. Ancient priests called Druids would also make sure that each home’s hearth was continuously ablaze to make sure the household was protected from the possibly mischievous spiritual visitors.
At some point, when Christianity was introduced in the islands, Pope Gregory moved one important Christian holiday, All Hallows’ Day, to November 1st. Presumably, replace or assimilate the Celtic Samhain Festival with a related BUT church-approved celebration.
Fast forward to the present time, religion is no longer closely associated with the way Halloween is celebrated. Most Brits now view it as a reason for a get-together: a night for sharing ghost stories, watching scary movies, and handing out candy to trick-or-treaters.
Speaking of trick-or-treating, the practice where kids dress up and knock on their neighbour’s doors and ask for sweets from the neighbour by yelling "trick or treat”, may have gained popularity in the UK partly due to the United States. But, do you know that we have a similar tradition being practised in the UK since way back? It’s called Guising—a unique form of trick-or-treating that originated in Scotland.
But which one is “scarier”? Well, we have the opinion that Halloween is a wee bit scarier in the UK than in the US. Why? Just look at the costumes people wear during this holiday. Sure, unlike their American counterparts, the British do not go over the top when it comes to decorations, but what we lack in decorations, we make up for with our costumes! Just look at the streets during this holiday, and you’ll see a flood of people dressed up as ghosts, zombies, and other frightful creatures.
Another fun tradition that traces its roots in the UK is the carving of pumpkins! Since it was the norm to display scary images of zombies and other ghouls during this time of year, Brits started to carve out scary images on turnips (which was abundant during fall). When people left England and Ireland for The Americas in the 1800s, they carried this tradition with them but instead did it on pumpkins (which were equally abundant but a lot less soft to carve).
There are a lot of traditions to look forward to later this season making sure that Halloween 2022 will certainly be a blast! After the pandemic, we’re certain that a significant chunk of the population is itching to go back to celebrating this peculiar occasion. We’re excited to see how your imagination and skills will be put to work once you come up with your costumes.

The greatest autumn fashion colours in 2022 are said to be vibrant and stunning, ranging from shades of orange to tantalising lime greens to classic autumn browns and greys. Even if you prefer to keep your colour palette simple and minimalistic, try to make use of this season to experiment with your outfit.
First on the list is Pacific Ocean blue—this hue has been gradually dominating the runways over the past few seasons and has now reached the street. Slip into the look by wearing a tie-dyed tank top first and the Pacific Ocean blue pants, and you’ll surely stand out among the crowd.
Next, you can try on deep orange—this colour received recognition for being the colour of the season. Style the striking hue in a full-body ensemble with a handbag or catchy accessory.
Zesty lime has made its colour debut in tight-fitting dresses, men's style jackets, and even accessories. Autumn maxi dresses and knitwear also featured mellow yellow, which is a close sibling.
Lime Punch, a hue Pantone has named for this season, is also another colour enjoying the “limelight” (pun intended) on the streets of Copenhagen in the form of silky slip dresses, jackets, and even boots. If London's street stylers are any indication, lime will be used quite a bit during this year’s Autumn collection.
Hot pink is undeniably having a moment right now too. Partly owing to its recent rise to popularity with Barbicore, this shade of pink is being featured on some of the most stylish insiders in fashion. A surefire way to give this colour justice? Do a pair of leather pants in bright pink.
Of course, this list would not be complete if we neglected to mention the classic autumn hues like grey, vanilla-latte beige, and brown. These colours were also on show for anyone wishing to dip their toes in the bright water in a more neutral manner. Additionally, because wearing pure white is a timeless look, there are off-white variations that look more seasonally appropriate for autumn.
Final Words
Autumn is one of the most interesting times to get out and try new styles. As mentioned earlier, you don’t have to confine yourself to the usual autumn hues of amber, orange, brown, or white. If it’s any indication, 2022 would be an exciting time to try out bold hues such as Pacific Ocean blue, hot pink, deep orange, and lime. If you’re the minimalistic type, you can still do your fashion experiments by choosing different shades of the usual staples. After all, this is all about self-expression. There's no right or wrong way of expressing yourself.

To complete this list, we wanted to add something totally unexpected. Since the past years have all been about self-love and self-care, we figured that one of the best presents you could give someone is a self-care pamper set.
The Zero Waste Luxury Pamper Gift Set from Sintra Naturals contains three full-size soaps—a Soothing Cleansing Balm, an Organic Vegan Lip Balm, and one of their Luxury Body Butter Bars. This is everything a self-care enthusiast would love in a pamper kit!
The products are all vegan-friendly and are the perfect gift for your friends and family who are skincare enthusiasts but prefer products made from cruelty-free processes and materials.

To help determine what to keep inside, we've come with an imaginary bag containing every makeup item you need. When we were brainstorming on which items to add to our kit, we considered all activities which you may be into, whether it’s the usual on-the-go touch-ups, a weekend getaway, or you want to make it part of your daily makeup routine.
A Compact Neutral Eyeshadow
Let’s be realistic; you’re not going to be able to try out all the shades in your current eye shadow palette. You might as well spare yourself the added weight and choose a more compact yet highly dependable eyeshadow palette. The Vegan Eyeshadow Quad Palette 01 Naturelle from BAIMS is a good option for this.
Concealer
A concealer is a must-have to give your face that fresh look even though you haven’t had a minute of sleep for the past 24 hours. Kidding aside, this is definitely a must-have to give you that boost of self-confidence when attending social events and events. This concealer from BAIMS is rich in vitamin E and vegetable actives like sweet almond and Jojoba, and provides extreme hydration and nurturing. With its light texture, creamy appearance, and rich pigmentation, the concealer disguises wrinkles and sunspots effectively.
Foundation or BB Cream
Some of us do not have the luxury of having an even complexion. Not all is lost, as we can easily remedy that by using a foundation or BB cream. BAIMS’s BB cream is a powerful nutrient for the skin, which is revitalized and gains a shining appearance, leading to a fresh and comfortable feeling. It is rich in tropical vegetable compounds like argan, babaçu, buriti, and açaí. It is compatible with all types of skin, especially for aged or dry skin that needs intensive hydration, nutrition, and care. You can apply it in multiple layers until the desired coverage is achieved.
Lipstick
A makeup kit will not be complete without lipstick. If asked which shade unleashes your dormant self-confidence, then a red one fits the bill. This lipstick from AudreyBurn is a great option. It sports a desperado color, a brick orange-red, which is highly pigmented and comes with a high-end velvet touch texture. It consists of vegan ingredients and it’s a paraben and fragrance-free formula. We designed it so that no matter what you’re doing, the lipstick will last throughout most of the day.
Mascara
Another must-have in every makeup kit is your dependable mascara. Our eyes are one of our strongest assets, so it’s just right to “dress” them up. This black mascara from Lash Perfect has a soft creamy consistency that is perfect for creating a voluminous lash look. Instant volume is achieved with just one sweep; it’s long-wearing and easily removed. It is perfect for those with sensitive eyes and since it’s oil-free, it is also compatible with most eyelash extensions.
So, that’s it! Five of our makeup essentials that every makeup kit must-have. You don’t have to bring the entire makeup toolbox with you every time to look your best. With a few touch-ups and a little bit of self-confidence, you will certainly go a long way. To learn more about the products featured in this blog, please feel free to visit librelondon.com
]]>The days seem to pass quicker than we realise. Summer has certainly been fun, at least for most of us. Now that autumn is just right round the corner, it might be a great time for us to think about the possibilities that lie ahead.
After spending over a year at home amid the pandemic, it’s high time that we replace the loungewear that we’ve gotten used to wearing and refresh our wardrobe.
While there's certainly nothing wrong with sticking with your favorite pair of sweatpants or pajamas, thinking about fresh ideas for your outfits for the coming months might also be a great way to spend your time. After all, we might be called back to the office (or school) any time soon.
When you think about autumn, browns, reds, and amber always come first into mind; but for 2021, we want to start our recommendation with super-saturated colours.
Nudes and neutrals are always the safe options; but for this season, we want to try out something bold, super-saturated pops of color that command attention. If we’re not going to try out this trend now, then when? We’re also not the only ones feeling positive about this trend as we also noticed the same being adopted by super brands such as Louis Vuitton, Prada, Tory Burch, and others on the 2021 runways. These cool colour ways are going to be everywhere.
Following our contrarian recommendation, we also think that unusual greens will make the headlines.
We noticed that green is gaining some popularity nowadays; this might be because we are longing for the outdoors. As broad as green is, we think that yellow-tinged, vegetal, and olive green will be the ones that will make a splash this season. These shades are certainly strange, but you’ll find that they’re easy to pair with the rest of your existing wardrobe (such as black or brown).
Of course, this article wouldn’t be a legitimate recommendation if we won’t include subdued yellow and its variants.
An autumn collection wouldn’t be complete without including yellow. This color continues to represent something warm and happy amidst an otherwise gloomy season.
You can either choose bright yellows to darker shades such as mustards. Usually, you can pair your yellows with complementary colors such as orange and green; however, choosing a subdued yellow share with rich brown is also a rewarding choice. The great thing about investing in clothes in yellow is that you can wear the same pieces even during spring and summer too.
